The main theme I’ve taken from Team ’24 Europe is that Atlassian is bringing its products to market faster than ever. Back in March, they announced that their AI-powered teamwork tool, Rovo, was released for early-access customers. Today, Rovo has been made generally available.

Rovo and the power of Agents

In case you don’t remember, Rovo acts as an AI assistant for you, allowing you to search across your Enterprise for insights. For example, if you need to look up the purpose of Project Aurora, whether it’s on track or what Bob’s role in accounts is, you can just ask Rovo.

Rovo can also run AI Agents that can automate tasks for you. Atlassian spoke about using Rovo to check brand guidelines or create a Confluence page with all of the up-to-date information, actions, opportunities, and more—all taken from various tools across the enterprise.

Another Agent used generative AI capabilities to develop code straight from a Jira issue, which allowed the developer to review, modify, and even create the pull-request. This is the kind of capability Atlassian has been testing internally, and found the capability of the bot to reduce the development time for common tasks by 75%!

Other tools in Atlassian’s suite that are generally available are Atlassian Guard Premium, Compass Premium, and JPD Premium. All in all, that’s a lot of capabilities becoming available for users to transform their business.

I’ve never known Atlassian to move this fast before, and they’re taking advantage of the hype of AI in Rovo’s case. But I also believe they’re trying to bring value to their customers much sooner, and this represents a real focus on getting stuff done. Speaking of focus…

New product: Atlassian Focus is here

Of course, Atlassian also revealed a new product, Atlassian Focus, as part of their venture into Enterprise Strategy and Planning. This exciting product works alongside Jira Align to provide a flexible hierarchy that allows organizations to align the work that teams are doing to goals.

Focus builds on Atlassian Goals and nicely wraps up Jira Align and Jira together.  Atlassian aims to bring everything together into a single focal point—the goals, the work, the teams, and the funds.

Check out our blog on Atlassian Focus for more information.

Atlassian also shared a number of exciting feature announcements for Jira Align, including a new Risks view, Atlassian Guard integration, a new Capacity planning view, and even the inclusion of the Atlassian Editor, allowing you to use smart links and other capabilities we’ve gotten used to from the other products.

Break down silos with the System of Work

Many of the keynotes talked about Atlassian’s System of Work and the transformational capabilities of the platform to power a modern business, with the aim being to break down the silos of information found in all organizations, enabling collaboration, sharing knowledge, and aligning work to the organization's goals.

Combined with Atlassian Intelligence and the other tools on the platform, this powerful solution is hopefully becoming a compelling reason for many customers to start considering their Cloud migration journey; 98% of EMEA customers already have some Cloud footprint, so many customers are already moving fast on this.

And there’s more…

There was a flurry of smaller announcements throughout the presentations, which came so fast, I only captured a few that caught my attention:

  • New Incident response capabilities in Compass and Jira Service management.
  • Mobile phone incident handling capabilities.
  • Confluence live pages (coming soon). You won’t need to press the publish button in the future.
  • Atlassian Loom being fully integrated into Jira and Confluence and becoming incredibly powerful with more AI capabilities, such as automatically summarizing or using variables to tailor content to individuals.

It’s been a really fun Team event so far. It was lovely chatting with customers, partners, and Atlassian staff about the announcements and the exciting direction that Atlassian is taking with its Cloud products.

If you want to join in these discussions, please reach out to us. We’d be happy to talk about how you can take advantage of these capabilities within your business.
