Many companies are modernizing their applications by moving to cloud platforms and microservices architecture. In the open-source world, this leads more often than not, to containers and Kubernetes providing a scalable and highly available platform with standard APIs.
However, self-hosting Kubernetes can be difficult and time-consuming and doesn’t provide business value. For this reason, managed Kubernetes services have exploded in popularity in recent years. Amazon EKS was made Generally Available in June 2018 and has since grown to be the most popular managed Kubernetes service, according to most surveys.
On this EKS Immersion Day we get an introduction and technical deep dive into Amazon EKS, while doing hands-on labs. After this workshop, you will walk away with a solid understanding and practical experience of using EKS. This workshop is most suited to DevOps and infrastructure people or developers who are responsible for deploying their applications into Kubernetes.
Appropriate audience: developers, IT admins etc., with technical level 200-400
